Merry Christmas and happy new year!

On the eve, stayed over at at Fragance hotel at Joo Chiat. Lost my way there but managed to reached there in the end. Was warmly welcomed by Eugene, Michelle, Larry, Kelvin and Alex. They were playing mahjong when i reached. After that. i went to a nearby foodcentre to get char kuay tiao and tau huay for dinner.

hahas. But unfortunately, due to the fact that in the previous night, i didnt sleep well, so i tahan until 2 plus am, played some games, before i decided to sleep, while the rest of them continued with their mahjong till the wee morning.

Slept till 9 plus, before decided to head home. Met up with rk for lunch, den went back home to rest. At about 4 plus, met up with stella to go town for some photo taking. After that shu zhen came to join us, before we went to join Eugene, Michelle and Alex for dinner at Cineleisure pasta mania!

oh well, i let the photos do the talkings. lol.

After that, went to walk around, then took some nice nice pictures, before shu zhen went off to meet her colleague. Den we went to Orchard Central's Spinelli to have some drinks, before me and stella went home while Eugene Michelle and Alex carry on to go watch their 1am Alvin and the chipmunk 2 at cineleisure.

Yup, thats marks quite an eventful christmas for me this year.

Tests and lecture- life as a trainee medic.

Ok, i recently started to play soccer again, in camp at night when there is free time. Oh well unfortunately, i fell down and twisted my ankle when i was trying to slide and blocking shots. But luckily, i went to NUH to see doctor and no bones were broken after x-ray, just some swelling and will be fine in a few days. Probably not going to play soccer again for sometime.

Seriously feels good to be at home.

finally, after the 24km march and joining the parade, i am no more recruit. (up rank already)

phew, finally comes to the ten days block leave. Finally can rest well. My feet was like dying after the 24km, plus the parade, Wow, totally feel tired out but yet at the same time feeling satisfied, like completed a major thing.

long long time since i updated my blog.

3 months in bmt going finish soon. Completed all the key events, left only 24km road march and SOC test.

times flies really. Although training sometimes can be very tough, mundane, boring and long (especially when a day in army starts very early in the morning), thinking back, there is still a sense of satisfaction lingering in my heart and mind. This is especially so after fieldcamp and situation test, where mental strength and physical strength are tested and stretched.

woohoo. Finally the job and the circuit board is done. fitted in nicely and works perfectly! Lucky Ernest Goh is very pleased, though i used up and spoiled quite a number of components. LOL. Well, a gd job done =)

anyway, i just came back from bintan trip. It feels like going to Singapore, ok, another part of Singapore whereby you pay everything is Sing dollars. Of course, scenery there is nicer. Will upload some photos when i get the photos from them. Next time i go sun tanning i must go get a SPF 50 sun block. In this way my skin wont peel off or hurt that much. hahaha.

life is just not really that exciting but neither it is too boring. But i just want to tone up my body a bit, to prepare myself physically (though i know i most likely cannot escape from PTP in NS)

During schooling, fridays are just another day. But when working, fridays are soooo precious. Now i know the reason why pple look forward to friday. Really.

i appreciate if NUS and NTU faster tell me that they will reject me, instead of me trying to keep my little little hope alive.

Seriously, i think my chances of going local uni is smaller than the chances of you striking toto, ok, not so bad, 4D, or maybe much higher chances of me winning a bet placed with Singapore Pools if i predict Manchester Utd will win their next Premier League match.

I have no money to go overseas uni ( i can totally forget abt going overseas uni to study, judging that i ask my mum sponsor me to go for driving lesson she does not want). Everybody starts saying about you going army and you will have your "pay" and you can go for driving lessons (thats wad my mum meant, u save up for your own damned driving lessons). Think about it, i come out already 23 and a half (agar agar), find a job (Diploma In Engineering dun fetch you high high pay) to pay off poly sch fee loan (i used my mum cpf, so i have to return) Then you start thinking about settling down, want to get married (you think about it, $$$ for your own first HDB flat with ur partner, $$$ to get married (if your partner is thinking about some in-lala-land type of marriage ceremony, den u need more $$$ though marriage expenses is most likely to be spilt into half half kind of thing), $$$ to go honeymoon, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$....

the above dun include if u want a car. if i go uni even worse, 23 and a half come out, study until 27 and a half. (but of course la degree pay and diploma is so way different)

so much so, i am working for Mr Ernest Goh, under the COI MOT (Centre of Innovation, Marine Offshore Technology) department, as TSO (Technical Support Officer) for a month. lol, ok well, dun laugh. My job is to help Mr Goh do PCB fabricating and electronics stuff, with some solidworks stuff i guess. hmmmm....ok la, last time do part time job is physical stress, but now is mental stress (stare at EAGLE and Solidworks for the whole day lehhh......)

anyway, wad have i been doing? nothing really much, erm, monday and tuesday help out for the ACS (I) Life Sciences Symposium 2009. Haha, quite fun to help out, looking at those ACS (I) students testing their own blood pressure at the blood pressure machine, as well as trying to clip the probes of the ECG machines to them and getting their own ECG reading.

haizzz. i dunnoe how to answer. in an attempt to strike a balance between grades and my interest, i have ultimately failed. i studied hard in something which i dont like, but still....i still see it with an open mind. Why? i cherish my life and my school and my course, but it is still......

looking ahead, the diploma is within my reach, but i guess i am just simply confused by people who says that a diploma will not get you anywhere.
i guess getting this diploma is much better than having a lousy A level cert which will really not get you ANYWHERE.

after christmas! actually didnt do much things for christmas...stay at home, rot, but watched movie with stella on the day before christmas even and went out with her on christmas eve to westmall (because she want to get her w910i, which is 0 dollar if u sign re-contract your phone). today is bme chrismas party!!!

ok nth to be excited about, since i didnt attend last year's party (had to work) and will be the last bme christmas party i will ever go. lol.

slack? stay at home? slack? well good time to get some rest though i must say. monday had nss fun bowl thing (joint event by ae, nss and bme club) so had some bowling at sp graduation guild. long time nvr bowl leh, i forget everything liao. all keep going drain. haha but got to play for 3 games, not bad although it put some strain on my wrist, which isnt too comfortable.

tuesday, went to watch my cousin's school chinese orchestra concert at Victoria Concert Hall. They are from Foon Yew High School, Malaysia. The chinese orchestra is sooooo big! LOL. Their performance is very nice also. clap clap clap! Had an enjoyable time =)

it is a saturday...actually dun wan to wake up one, but feel bad putting jolene stella and yang fang aeroplane la, so i woke up to go sch for free tennis lesson organised by ECE society. Last week didnt go cause couldnt wake up, so i went today, and realise it is quite fun! We were taught how to hold the racket properly, and the basics. And got a chance to excerise in a not so boring way. Yeap =)

Common test coming soon! But this time no common test feel. The last common test in ngee ann ( I HOPE SO). Must cherish liao. Next time no more le. Ngee ann will be left behind in my life. Just like how PJC is. But obviously i spent 3 times more the time in Ngee Ann than in PJ. Thinking of the days in BME centre, laughing, talking, "shouting" across what time want have lunch, tapau lunch sit at the back eat, staying back in bme centre till 10pm to rush project, sunday also come back bme centre do project, prepare for presentation. The days when we had review, kena shot like dunnoe wad by the lecturers, all the joys and pain of doing projects.....arrr.....i bet it would be nostalgic!

what a hectic week...

talking about the interim review...i only know i got shot because of poor housekeeping by that Mr Foo. wah lao, he think i want my project table so messy meh. i have no time to do my housekeeping lo. Basket. i was doing my circuit till the day before the review. he think i so messy ar. wah lao. like dat also must shoot me. i spend so much time and yet yield so little stuff. damn it, i hate this. this kind is call 吃力不讨好. Nvr mind la, aiyah do the bridge rectifier to convert ac power to dc power also cannot work. The cicruit dunnoe why last minute cannot work den tua me, i also bo bian. Right?

I also very suay leh, the STUPID god damn LCD just refuse to work with the PIC16F887 chip. i had to use the old chip to demonstrate. no improvement from the vpp.

interim report is due next week...but i dunnoe wad to write! cant help by the fact dat i cant believe dat i spend so much of my youth on that god damn piece of LCD display.

Upgrading to a more powerful chip, but den it wouldnt work. Reminds me of the error in which Windows 95 will not work on PC faster than 2.2Ghz due to timing error in which during the 90s, this problem was not discovered as technology was a bit"limited" at that point of time. A little triva if you all didnt know:

-Windows 95 was released in 1995 together in CDs and diskettes (cant rmb, is in about 30 diskette)

-Windows 95 will not support harddisk larger than 32GB

-Windows 95 will not run on computer faster than 2.2GHz (if you all are interested, u all can go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/312108 to read why)

-If you try to be funny and run Windows 95 your quad-core, dual-core or dunnoe how many core computer, it will only make use of a core (so, a dual core performance will limited by the OS)

- Windows 95 will not work if RAM exceed 1GB (if u dint noe, Windows 98 and Windows ME also have the same problem. a solution is on Microsoft support website for a workaround though (but very troublesome))

- Minimum RAM requirement for Windows 95 is 4MB RAM, but Microsoft recommends 8MB RAM for smooth performance (While for Vista, minimum is 1GB RAM and recommended is 2GB RAM)

-Only Windows 95B CD (a later edition) comes with USB support (cant imagine now everything is USB right? but only slightly a decade ago, USB was just introduced and working like so slow, USB 1.0)

- Windows 95 marked the new standard of 32-bit computing (previously all was 16-bit, which is less powerful)

oh well....Windows 95 brought many joys and pain to me. The OS is not build on Windows NT platform (same goes for Windows 98 and ME), so it is more prone to crashes (pple who complain XP and Vista always crash, think abt it again.....seriously....) NO system restore means once it is done, dats it! I rmb, recovery disk was like, 30 diskette??????????? That time i young, also dun really noe how to do recovery......

Joy?.....hmm...my first computer is on Windows 95, so....of course, got games to play....fiddle around (until my mum got fed up of me spoiling it and screwing it up and forbid me to play with computer unless i asked for permission). My first desktop is Acer, if i nvr rmb wrongly, the specs is below:

Intel Pentium processor 75 MHz (VS the true dual core AMD 2.4GHz( 2400mhZ) 64 Athlon x2 that i have)

8MB of RAM

okok...i shall do new updates....cause now having camp for the napfa testers at kismis block 94.....very new (just renovated....machiam like chalet)

anyway, mid autumn festival was fun as i celebrated it over two days....first was on a saturday where me, zijie, renkai and thomas went out to play like little kids....we played candle and stuff....hahaha....but i guess it was a lot of fun =D.

On second day which was a sunday, went to play candle with stella and shuzhen....lol...played two days of candle....reminds me of wad i always do when i was a child during mid autumn festival...haha....

but the problem is, i got a cheap motherboard (though nt bad), which only support 2 IDE drive. nw i got 3 IDE drive, i bought a sata converter, also cannot. siao liao, nowadays everything runs on sata, so does it mean i hav to go get a sata drive? (i no money lehzzz)

well, had some problems when i fixed the com (stupid RAM)....but den, solved, so dun wan to talk abt it liao. lol. use it for gaming and listen to music. and my spare com just in case.

and those who came back from attachment and doing project now, some mass virus spread in computers hur~ helped them fixed it today and gao dim everything, so that they can do their project without hassle. (Irene, after a few months, your laptop can finally fly again) ;)

anyway, last day for those who are going to attachment. these few days BME centre is so crowded (going attachment and those who came back from attachment plus non-attachment pple), but ok la, see-ing those going attachment one like very happy like dat. lol. but i noe dey will miss BME centre. but of course, i will also miss them, seeing one batch changing and transit to another batch, makes me a bit nostalgic. hahaha. ;) esp when many of my gd frenz are going attachment, u cant help feeling a bit 不舍得(cannot bear to leave).

well, today mdm Tan popped this question to me during the BME lecturers and student lunch session, which is why i didnt go attachment. (not only mdm Tan but many others also)

Suddenly, i dint know how to answer. Last time when pple asked me, i will just say i dun really like to go on attachment. but now when i think about it, go poly is go for experience and attachment, which suddenly i felt that it is right in some sense. When i was quite young (when i was in pri sch), my mum told me next time go poly ar, u learn how to work and then will go attachment to work and try out how is working like.

Nevertheless, i still have no regrets choosing non-iap path. because we are the kamikazae team! (haha kidding). Well the key in life is sometime that we try not to regret our choice in life. We have to make full use of what we have now and what we can do now rather than keep thinking "what if..."

fyp report is finally finished. 60 pages long. but i am worried for my software part. because i dunnoe how to explain den i dump everything inside dats all~!!!!! The hardware part i am rather confident ( i seriously hope the heart rate detector that i have created will not fail me during the presentation, because there is a grounding problem and i need to rectify it if it were to be 100% guaranteed working (but i dunnoe how) )

but as compared to other pple's report, probably not so nice leh. but i dunnoe. aiyah, dun compare, maybe our content and presentation is better leh? hahaha. being an optimist isnt that bad afterall.

actually a lot of pple are just stressing themselves too much over certain stuff. take it easy man. Things or matters maybe hard to solve or deal with, but when we do it step by step, we realise dat everything has a solution to the end and would be able to solve the problem.

holidays! but i hav been going back to sch to do work...

why? because first, i dun wan to laze at home, stay at home means i will use elect at home and on the fan, which means elect bill going up~. so, i shall go to sch to use elect, blow free aircon, and sch's environment probably will make sure i do some work instead of lazing around~.
